Kaili Medical announced its 2025 annual report on April 16, showing that its full-year operating income reached 2.309 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.65%, while net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies rose 38.54% to 197 million yuan – a remarkable turnaround from the performance decline in the first three quarters of 2025.
Kaili Medical’s business portfolio, which includes ultrasound diagnostic equipment, digestive and respiratory endoscopes, minimally invasive surgical products, and cardiovascular interventional devices, has shown balanced growth. Its ultrasound segment, a cornerstone business, achieved 1.237 billion yuan in revenue with a 4.52% year-on-year increase, while the endoscope segment emerged as a core growth driver, surpassing 1 billion yuan in annual revenue for the first time (1.014 billion yuan) with a stunning 27.42% year-on-year growth. The company’s market share in domestic medical imaging equipment bidding also improved, with digestive and respiratory endoscopes accounting for about 14% of the market in 2025, up from 10.5% in 2024, exceeding internal expectations.
Another domestic giant, United Imaging Healthcare, reported a projected net profit of 1.888 billion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 49.60%. Industry insiders note that the shift to centralized procurement in China’s medical equipment bidding market has changed the traditional distribution model, with manufacturers adopting a volume-for-price strategy to gain market share, which has slightly pressured profit margins but boosted industry concentration. Kaili Medical’s overall gross profit margin stood at 62% in 2025, a 1-percentage-point decrease from 2024, mainly due to the impact of centralized procurement on ultrasound products and the low gross profit margin of new businesses still in the investment phase. However, policy adjustments since the second half of 2025, which oppose ultra-low price winning bids, have alleviated price competition, and manufacturers expect gross profit margins to rebound with product structure upgrades.
Globally, the clinical medical equipment market is projected to maintain steady growth in the next decade. According to a report by Future Market Insights, the market was valued at USD 678.9 billion in 2025, is expected to reach USD 719.63 billion in 2026, and will expand to USD 1,288.75 billion by 2036 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6%. Aging populations in developed economies and rising chronic disease prevalence in emerging markets are key drivers of demand for diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring technologies, while hospital networks are increasingly prioritizing connected, interoperable equipment to reduce costs and improve clinical efficiency. China is expected to lead global growth with an 8.1% CAGR, followed by India (7.5%) and Germany (6.9%).
Technological innovation, particularly the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), is reshaping the industry. AI-driven diagnostic platforms are now widely used in radiology, gastroenterology, and primary care, enabling faster and more accurate detection of diseases such as pulmonary nodules and skin lesions. Advanced wearables and smart implants are also transforming chronic disease management, with devices like AI-integrated blood pressure monitors and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems providing real-time data and enabling proactive care.
